1.0 out of 5 stars taste is not great, July 8, 2011
This review is from: Emergency Survival Food Supply 200 Servings - 20 Year Shelf Life (Misc.)
We bought this emergency food supply at Costco. We have tried several different meals. They do not taste great, in fact they taste awful. We have tried to doctor them up to make them taste better. So far, nothing works. We can't figure out why they should taste so bad. Does all freeze dried food taste this bad? If there is a way to improve the taste I would like to know it. I am usually not a picky eater, but I would definitely not pick this again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unhealthy, Non-Nutritious Food, August 31, 2011
This review is from: Emergency Survival Food Supply 200 Servings - 20 Year Shelf Life (Misc.)
I got excited about the "low cost" of this emergency food product until I read the nutrition labels. YIKES...SCARY! See here (especially 2nd page): [...]

Servings are 20 grams - 45 grams...not bad for a week old baby sparrow (as an FYI, Wendy's Grilled Chicken Salad is 338 grams w/190 calories).

Equally shocking are the calorie counts. "Meals" like 110 calories, 90 calories, 70 calories? Seriously?

BUT, it gets worse. Even more concerning is the near zero vitamin/mineral/amino acid contribution for a healthy daily diet intake. There are only 2 vitamins and 2 minerals listed, and those are at nearly non-existent levels. Most are below 5%-10% with many at 0%.

Would love to see a test of this stuff as an exclusive diet for 30 days. It's being advertised as a "7 Year Food Supply" on the Reverend Jim Baker "sales" show for a "donation" of $3,000!! This most likely could be more damaging to your health than McDonald's food (like the movie... Read more

As the other reviewer, I'm not thrilled with the taste nor am I happy about the additives in the ingredients. Since trying this brand I've been in search of a better product. The best I've found, free of MSG, GMO ingredients and other additives, and who also gives free samples to try it out is here: free samples. efoods global. com.
